3003 aluminum is an alloy with 1.2% manganese to improve the strength over pure aluminum. 3003 H-22 Diamond Tread Plate - This has the same properties as the standard 3003 aluminum with the raised tread pattern to improve traction. This is very commonly used for tool boxes, wall panels, flooring, truck bed liners and trim, garage and workshop outfitting, step plates and any other application that needs the light weight and strength of 3003 aluminum with increased traction of the raised tread pattern.

5052 H-32 Aluminum - Aluminum alloy with magnesium added to make it much stronger than 3003 series aluminum. This grade has great corrosion resistance and has the best welding characteristics of all the aluminums. Uses include truck and trailer components, aircraft components, boat hulls, ladders, railings, tool boxes, kitchen equipment, decorative trim, sign blanks, and any other application that would require more strength than 3003 series aluminum.

6061 T-6 Aluminum - Aluminum alloy with magnesium and silicon as it's major alloys. This alloy has high strength with good workability and high resistance to corrosion. Welds well but is more particular in welding skill and setup. Common uses are aircraft fittings, marine components and hardware, electrical fittings, hydraulic pistons, brake pistons, appliance fittings, valve and valve parts, railroad cars, bicycle frames among many other uses. This is a very common alloy and has many uses when high strength, high corrosion resistance and light weight are required.

3105 aluminum is an alloy with 1.2% manganese to improve the strength over pure aluminum. It is a general purpose aluminum that is suitable for painting and is commonly used for sign making, residential siding, mobile homes and in sheet metal work.

6061 aluminum is heat treated and corrosion resistant.  It is excellent for resisting moisture and is strong for it's light weight.  It is easy to drill, machine and saw.  Uses include braces, brackets, frames, base plates and ornamental work.

3003 aluminum expanded metal comes from 16 gauge (0.050" thick) sheet metal that is expanded. We stock 3003 aluminum expanded metal in 300 to 500 foot coils. The 3003 aluminum expanded metal is thin enough to be rolled by hand and pieces measuring over 4' in length will typically be rolled up for shipping purposes.

With our 3003 aluminum expanded metal the long way of the diamond runs along the width. We can typically cut pieces that are 10' or shorter to size along the width, but you will need to call a sales representative at 877-484-0088 to discuss that option.

The 3003 aluminum expanded metal openings measure as follows:

3/4" Mesh
Short way of diamond opening = ~ 3/4"
Long of diamond opening = ~ 1 3/4"

1/2" Mesh
Short way of diamond opening = ~ 5/16"
Long of diamond opening = ~7/8"

Common uses for 16 gauge 3003 aluminum expanded metal include architectural applications, chimney caps, animal guards, various types of filtration, concrete reinforcement, and used commonly in conjunction with sheet metal projects. 3003 aluminum expanded metal would not be recommended for uses in grills, trailers, catwalks etc. since it isn't strong enough for those applications.

They are used to attach sheets as wall coverings and backsplashes, along with providing aesthetic covering for seams between sheets and around corners. Our trim moldings have deep pockets to allow for variance in the existing wall and also have extra wide nailing strips to make installation more convenient.

The edge trim molding is made from our .032” 3003-H14 aluminum sheet stock. Edge trim molding is used to make a finished edge. The pocket is 1”, and you do not need to subtract any for this specific trim molding.

Divide
The divide trim molding is made from our .032” 3003-H14 aluminum sheet stock. Divide trim molding is used to join two adjacent sheets on the same wall. The pocket for each side is 7/16”, and subtracting 1/8” from each sheet will accommodate for this trim.

Inside Corner
The inside corner trim molding is made from our .032” 3003-H14 aluminum sheet stock. Inside corner trim molding is used to join two sheets at 90° on an inside corner. The pocket for each side is ¾”, and subtracting 7/8” from the sheet size will accommodate for this trim.

Outside Corner
The outside corner trim molding is made from our .032” 3003-H14 aluminum sheet stock. Outside corner trim molding is used to join two sheets at 90° on an outside corner. The pocket for each side is ¾”, and subtracting 3/16” from the sheet size will accommodate for this trim.
